HugBear

Terms of Use

Last updated: October 25, 2026

These terms apply to the HugBear app and service. By using them, you agree to these terms. Apple's standard terms for apps (the Licensed Application End User License Agreement) also apply to the app.

The service

HugBear lets two paired bears send hugs to each other over the internet, and shows their status in the app. It needs Wi-Fi and an internet connection, and it depends on services we don't control, such as your Wi-Fi and Apple's notifications. We work to keep it running, but we can't promise it will always be available or that every hug arrives instantly.

Your account

Keep your account to yourself, and only pair with people who want to pair with you. You can remove your partner at any time in the app's settings.

Fair use

Don't misuse HugBear: don't try to access other people's bears or accounts, interfere with the service, or reverse-engineer it to harm others.

Bear updates

Your bear updates its own software over the internet, to fix problems and add features. Updates are signed by us, and your bear only installs updates when it's idle.

Battery and care

Your bear contains a rechargeable battery. Follow the care instructions that come with it: charge it with a standard USB charger, don't wash the electronics, and switch the bear off if it's damaged or gets hot.

Limits

HugBear is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect losses or for problems caused by things outside our control. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law.

Ending

You can stop using HugBear and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that misuse the service.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms, and will update the date above when we do. Questions: alex@cafemonday.com.
